Retail Design Coordinator

Role Overview

A Retail Design Coordinator supports the planning, design, and execution of retail store layouts and visual concepts. The goal is to ensure stores are functional, visually appealing, and aligned with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Planning

  • Assist in creating store layouts, floor plans, and 3D concepts
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, and contractors
  • Adapt global brand guidelines to local store formats

Store Development

  • Support new store openings, refurbishments, and rollouts
  • Ensure designs are implemented correctly on-site
  • Track timelines and progress of projects

Visual & Brand Compliance

  • Maintain consistent brand identity across stores
  • Review fixtures, materials, signage, and displays
  • Work closely with VM (Visual Merchandising) teams

Project Coordination

  • Manage design documentation (drawings, BOQs, specs)
  • Liaise with internal teams (marketing, operations, procurement)
  • Monitor budgets and vendor deliverables

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with external agencies, suppliers, and contractors
  • Review quotations and technical submissions
  • Ensure quality and cost efficiency

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of retail design principles & space planning
  • Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (common in UAE roles)
  • Strong project coordination and multitasking
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving
  • Good communication & stakeholder management

Experience

3 - 5 years of experience in a design coordinator role.

Preferred Architect/ Interior designer.
